missy

November 1st started Missy Bryant’s official retirement day. Our staff at ACPC celebrated with a farewell party. Here is some interesting information about Missy along with a few statements from friends and colleagues.

Missy Bryant has worked in the Adair County School District as an instructional assistant for 21 years and as a one on one aid for 4 years. She worked closely in the kindergarten classroom with Sarah Burton, Amber Bledsoe, and Kelsie Pepper. She started at Colonel William Casey and ended at the Adair County Primary Center.

While working in our schools Missy said that she loved watching children learn and grow. She will definitely miss being silly with the kids. She will also miss how rewarding it is working with children. She will never forget the time at Col. Wm. Casey that the heater caught on fire.

Missy hopes that students will remember that she taught them to do and give their best and that she was always there for them.

After retiring, Missy plans to enjoy and be thankful for every day. She will now have more time to enjoy the special people in her life. A few of Missy’s friends had this to say:

Mrs. Megan Dovenbarger said, “While working in the cafeteria with Ms. Missy, I really got to see another side of her. She truly loved all the kids at school and treated them all fairly. She would give to others even if she didn’t have it to give in the first place. She has a heart of gold!”

Mrs. Kelsie Pepper said, “Ms. Missy’s number one priority was always the kids. She knew exactly how to love them, how to be embarrassingly funny for them, and how to hold high expectations for them. She’d run circles around me taking care of the needs I never knew I needed doing, all the while conferencing with kids, and cutting and measuring out supplies for a craft the kids would look forward to every week.

Our students hung on her every word when she read, and truly respected her and the way she loved and expected the best out of each child.

She also loved her work family intentionally. She’d give the shirt off her back or a piece of wisdom you didn’t even know you needed.

Missy has inspired and influenced so many children and we are forever grateful to have had her serve with us. She truly poured her whole self out with us here at ACPC.”

Sarah Burton said, “After years of loving service to Adair County, Missy Bryant is retiring — but her heart for children and her impact will stay with us forever. Around ACPC, everyone has a “Missy story”. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to shine through the halls of our school."

Amber Godsey, a former ACPC employee, saidMissy Bryant is one of the hardest working and most dedicated people I have ever had the pleasure to work with! I not only knew her as my kindergarten assistant but also a close friend! You deserve all the best Missy! Love always, Amber Godsey”.
